HONG KONG, Waspada.co.id – Marriott International Inc. today announced the signing of a landmark agreement with Malaysia’s YTL Hotels to bring the AC Hotels by Marriott brand to Malaysia.
Under the agreement, three existing hotels in Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Kuantan will fly the AC Hotels by Marriott brand flag following a strategic conversion. AC Hotels by Marriott has an international portfolio of remarkable properties worldwide inspired by the European style.
The hotels are set to bring a new standard to the hospitality landscape in the country with a promise of “A New Way to Hotel†when they are scheduled to open under the AC Hotels by Marriott brand in December 2019.
“Marriott International and YTL have enjoyed a very successful and strategic partnership over many years. We are honored to be collaborating once again to bring the AC Hotels by Marriott brand into Malaysia,†said Craig S. Smith, President and Managing Director, Asia Pacific, Marriott International, (11/9).
“Together, Marriott International and YTL have a current portfolio of 12 properties across Asia and Europe. We are confident that AC Hotels by Marriott will represent a wonderful new addition to YTL’s portfolio of Marriott International hotels,†added Smith.
“The 24-year long relationship we enjoy with Marriott International has yielded many valuable opportunities and successful partnerships for YTL Hotels globally. We currently operate 12 Marriott International properties in our portfolio of 36 hospitality assets and the figure continues to grow steadily. We are very excited to be the first in Malaysia to bring in AC Hotels by Marriott and we look forward to be in the forefront of developing this urban lifestyle brand throughout Malaysia,†said Executive Director of YTL Hotels, Dato’ Mark Yeoh.
AC Hotel by Marriott Penang is set to be the first Marriott International hotel in Penang, located in the island’s southeastern district of Bukit Jambul. Located near the hotel is Penang’s SPICE (Subterranean Penang International Convention and Exhibition Center) Arena, a futuristic indoor arena with 4,500 square meters of space which serves as a major venue for meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE). Also nearby is the UNESCO World Heritage-listed city of George Town, the capital of Penang.
AC Hotel by Marriott Kuala Lumpur will be strategically located approximately four kilometers away from the Kuala Lumpur City Center, the hub of Malaysia’s capital city with a multitude of shopping, entertainment, and dining options, as well as upscale corporate offices and luxury residences nearby. The new hotel will also be within walking distance from the Titiwangsa monorail station and the Ampang LRT line, both of which link up to the city’s transportation hub of KL Sentral for fast and convenient commuting around the city and beyond.
AC Hotel by Marriott Kuantan is located near the city center. The beautiful white sandy beaches and azure waters of Cempedak Bay and idyllic fishing village of Beserah can be found about five kilometers from the hotel. Kuantan is also home to several industrial areas including the Malaysia-China Kuantan Industrial Park and Gambang Industrial Park. Kuantan’s relaxed charm and proximity to larger cities such as Kuala Lumpur and Singapore make it a favorite weekend getaway destination for residents living in these cities.(wol/aa/data1)
