MEDAN, Waspada.co.id – Governor of North Sumatera, Edy Rahmayadi, has again extended the Enforcement of Restrictions on Public Activities (PPKM in Indonesia). This is stated in the North Sumatera Governor’s Instruction Number 188.54/26/INST/2021 dated July 5, 2021.
Previously, only 10 districts/cities had implemented Micro PPKM in Medan, Binjai, Tebingtinggi, Pematangsiantar, Deliserdang, Serdang Bedagai, Simalungun, Langkat, Karo, and Dairi. Now there are 12 including Padangsidimpuan and Sibolga. Medan City and Sibolga even entered level 4 Covid-19.
Medan and Sibolga enter the level 4 criteria because there are more than 30 people of 100 thousand residents per week being hospitalized because of Covid-19. Then, there were more than five deaths of 100.000 population and more than 150 active cases of 100.000
population in the span of two weeks.
“The governor’s instructions are a follow-up to the instructions of the Minister of Home Affairs Number 14/2021 regarding the extension of the Micro PPKM and optimizing the Covid-19 handling posts at the village and urban village levels,” said Head of the North Sumatra
Communication and Information Department, Irman Oemar, Wednesday, July 7.
For Medan city, level 4 is requested to do at least 406 Covid-19 suspect tests a day and Sibolga 129 Covid-19 suspect tests per day. It’s based on provisions provided by a Covid-19 handler task force where if it positive rate below 5%, then it has to test one suspect per 1000 people a week.
Meanwhile, over 5 to 15% conducted five tests of 1000 inhabitants a week, 15% to 25% were conducted 10 tests of thousand inhabitants a week and above 25% were conducted 15 tests per 1000 inhabitants.
Office/workplace activities in the red zone, restrictions were made to apply Work From Home (WFH) by 75% and Work From Office (WFO) 25%. In addition to the red zone, restrictions were made by applying WFH 50% and WFO 50%.
Learning and teaching activities in districts/cities in the red zone are online based. For cities with other zone suitable to technical arrangements from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology.
Furthermore, shopping centers, malls and trade centers apply to restrictions on operating hours till 17.00 pm and 25% of visitor capacity restrictions with stricter implementation of health protocols. Likewise, food stalls, cafes, street vendors, hawker stalls and others.
Entertainment venues such as nightclubs, discotheques, pubs/live music, public and family karaoke, bars, massage parlors/spa, steam baths, agility game areas and others, restrictions on operating hours until 8:00 pm. Visitors capacity is also limited by 50%.
“The governors instructions went into effect from July 6 to 20, 2021 with the expectation that all parties involved could be implemented to a maximum extent,” added Irman. (wol/aa/ruth/data3)
